On behalf of
the All India Anti-imperialist Forum Mr. Manik Mujherjee, Vice-President, has
released the following statement about the heinous act of assassination of the
Iranian General.
The All-India Anti-imperialist Forum strongly
condemns President Donald Trump ordered assassination of the top-ranking Military
Commander of Iran, Qassem Suleiman, at the Baghdad Airport. This is another
heinous act of brigandage of USA in the Middle East. After the Iraqi
militia penetrated into the US Embassy area at Baghdad during a demonstration,
President Trump, without any justification, started to accuse Iran for
masterminding the event and announced that Iran would be punished for its act.
USA had earlier imposed draconian economic sanctions on Iran and has long been
threatening Iran with military assault because the latter has refused to bow
down to American diktat. This is not the sole instance of US aggression on a
sovereign country on fabricated pretext. We have already witnessed US attacks
on Iraq and Libya and the slaying of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and the
Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi. The Current
heinous assassination of the Iranian Military Commander is a violation of the
sovereignty of Iran and at the same time it is a grave threat to world peace.
We call upon all the freedom-loving people of the world to rise up in protest
against US aggression and force USA to stop its belligerent maneuvers in the
Middle East.
